A story collection written by my great uncle, Julius M Harkey, when he was a principal and teacher in a small Native Alaskan school in Savoonga, St. Lawrence Island, as well as in Kotzebue, Alaska, from 1954 until his death in 1965 in Kotzebue Hospital of a heart attack. I don't believe the stories have ever been published. I hope you enjoy reading about his life on the west coast of Alaska just above the Arctic Circle. Please keep in mind these were written before 1964 & are his thoughts, stories, musings, opinions only. Book 2 are his letters to home, mainly to my father and mother. Book 3 will be about my travels to and from Alaska and living there 1969-1962 and again from 2002-2012.
