Galaxy · K.A. Seger
Stories set in New York after the outbreak, from Manhattan’s collapse to the roads and shelters beyond the city.
The Unburied begins with Ashlynn, Leith, and Katrina. Later Seasons can return to this region years afterward. Begin with We Will Never Have to Bury Each Other.
How Lantern story worlds connect
A Galaxy gathers related Worlds, connecting stories that share a larger setting or creative thread. Worlds, Galaxies, and Universes are optional—writers can use only the levels their stories need.

Inside this Galaxy
New York is the shared ground for this branch of the setting. In The Unburied, Ashlynn, Leith, and Katrina leave a fallen Manhattan and travel north through Scarsdale toward Kensico and Pleasantville.
Food, water, injuries, shelter, and trust shape every stop. The two Unburied books follow one another in order.
Future Seasons set in New York can take place years later. Each Season should make its place on the timeline clear while keeping the same regional continuity.
The grid is gone. New York City has fallen. The dead drift through streets and suburbs while the living build new systems from fear, scarcity, and whatever rules they can still enforce.
Ashlynn, Leith, and eleven-year-old Katrina head north with no destination they can trust—only the fragile promise that they will keep choosing one another. Every sanctuary asks a price. Every mile forces a choice. And the family forming between them may be the one thing none of them knows how to survive losing.
The Unburied is an adult post-apocalyptic series about addiction, agency, found family, and love built not from rescue, but from the repeated decision to remain.
