Maps, lore & atmosphere
This galaxy is made up of several inter dimensional planes of existence, all connected to Gaia (also known as our modern Earth) via great magical portals. The stories in our world follow supernatural characters who orbit around a cynical dragon shifted to suit this world of muted magic and the human with mage's blood trying to help all dragons get their rights back from the supernatural governing agency, Crimson.
The main "sister" world is called Ordia and it mimics a medieval version of Earth, where magic and some steam-powered contraptions have replaced electricity and technology.
🐉Some History -
The premise of the history of our worlds, is that in the course of magic being revoked or controlled in Gaia (Earth) powerful magical beings and the mages among the humans who saw the drain happening, found, created, or took control of large portals, so many magical beings could leave this harsh world.
This further drained magic from what was coming to be known as Earth to the point that most humans no longer even believe in it. The great religious take-over caused all "supernatural" beings into hiding. When there were fatal skirmishes had between humans and supernaturals, the idea of Crimson was born.
Portals are controlled by the organization governing all supernaturals, called Crimson, split between the law enforcement sect (Agents, Guards, and Taskers) and the law-making and judicial sect (Crimson Council).
Gaia is our modern world and therefore each place has a reference to something real. Gaia or Earth as the humans named it, retains some magical energy, but it is not nearly as rich as it once was. It relies mostly on technology and electricity.
Ordia is the sister-world reachable through huge magical portals controlled by Crimson. It has more magic energy and things are less technology based and more steampunk and magic based there.
There are other connections to other planes out there, each with their own background, but we will cover them as they come.
