Behind the byline

About the author

Renae Mavis has been telling stories for as long as she can remember—long before she knew how to read them.

She writes mystery, thriller, and paranormal suspense for readers who enjoy getting a little lost in the dark. Her stories are filled with secrets, danger, the unexplained, and characters who rarely know who they can trust. The deeper you go, the more questions appear—and sometimes the things hiding in the shadows are exactly what you're afraid they'll be.

Renae is fascinated by the space between what we know and what we can't explain. The strange feeling that someone is watching. The secret that refuses to stay buried. The door you probably shouldn't open—but absolutely have to.

Her current obsession is The Family - House of Bloodworth.

Renae believes the best stories don't simply entertain you. They follow you.

Sometimes into your dreams.

Sometimes into the shadows.

And occasionally, into the woods.

So come a little closer.

Just don't assume you're alone.
